Alley Insider wonders whether the tech company du jour can dabble into the enterprise market and win.
My question is whether Apple should even consider entering that market.
On one hand, it should stick to figuring out how to gain more market share in the consumer market where it seriously lags behind.
Slowly but surely more computer users are voting Apple. Accelerating this movement would bring in more revenues while decreasing the expenses which would translate into more profits.
On the other hand, the enterprise market is probably the most lucrative computer segment and offers immense opportunities. If Apple is able to bring its almost trademark differentiated concepts, then it should.
Apple is perceived as the brand of choice for creativity and innovation. A lot of companies are creative and innovative and even more would like to believe so or create that perception. The potential is there. The market penetration strategy is another matter.
