Lessons Learned in Ottawa

by Jean Biri

Everyday I learn something new whether personally or on a business level. I think it would be a pretty cool idea to share remarkable things that I learn on my journey to wherever I am headed.

The first lesson I guess would have to be that sometimes you have to step out of your surroundings to get a fresh perspective.

I was in Ottawa for my first time lately and I saw familiar brands such as supermarkets, petrol (gas) stations, hotels and so forth. What’s interesting is how different these companies conduct their operations from their Montreal’s and other cities’ counterparts.

Results are different as a marketing message travels from cities to cities due to the mere fact that things like regulations differ.

In Ottawa, it’s all good to turn right on a red sign. In Montreal, you get a nice ticket.
